2008 we fare thee well!

It is kind of weird that New Year's day becomes such a day of new beginnings. After all, it is just another day. But each year it is a day of new goals and resolutions, traditions and college football. I have to say that this January 1st is one that I have been looking forward to! As year's go, 2008 was a tough year. I am not sure why, but it was just tough. Some years are better than others I guess, and thought I certainly had some great moments this year, check out the previous entry, there were just some difficult events in 2008. So today, in the midst of all the thoughts of "newness" I am excited to start a new year and leave the past in the past! I thought of this verse this morning as a good verse to welcome in 2009 and bid farewell to 2008.

"No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us."
Philippians 3.13-14
I hope your 2008 was good, but I really hope that your 2009 is great!

Happy New Year!
Be His!
